Emerging trend: De-glamorisation of Russia

Cultural evolution is an alternation of the opposites.
The cultural codes that are marginal now can well become dominant in the future.
We can anticipate de-idealization and de-glamorisation of femininity.
Glamour refers to the ideal and emulation and is essentially a Romanticist code.
What will come up to take its place should be based on the principles of Realism.
Emergent codes will obviously refer to Nature and Self-Acceptance.
Or they may carry Romanticist tendencies of glamour to extremes, get rid of ideals and promote the ‘individuality without a model’.
The options include:
• Crazy, idiosyncratic, creative, Bohemian, futuristic, grotesque, Fellini-like self-expression and self-creation (as an alternative to ‘philistine glamour’)
• Hippy-like cult of Nature and simplicity
• More relaxed attitude to one’s appearance and lifestyle à la Bridget Jones.
It is difficult to predict when this culture turn is going to take place. It depends both on the zeitgeist and the availability of appropriate role models.
